IACS Account Information For
Physician Quality Reporting System & eRx Incentive Program

Any person registering for an IACS account is allowed one account. Existing IACS users may request to add additional role(s) to their account if needed (with some limitations). The account owner is the only one allowed to register for the account (someone cannot set it up for him/her) and (s)he must use his/her own email address when registering. This page and the Quick Reference Guides here will assist with obtaining a new IACS account for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) or eRx Incentive Program for various tasks. (i.e., viewing feedback reports, submitting reporting data, etc.)

Eligible Professionals Paid Under an SSN
Individual EPs paid under an SSN for Medicare Part B who want to access eRx or PQRS Feedback Reports or interim PQRS claim Dashboard reports in the PQRS Portal; register with the individual PQRS Representative role and select 'I want to register without associating to an organization.' For these Individual EPs who will report the eRx or PQRS data via a qualified EHR Vendor system, an individual PQRS Submitter role will need to be requested and select 'I want to register without associating to an organization.' The individual provider himself/herself will need to register for the account as the account owner with both of these roles and is the only person allowed to use the account. Follow the Individual PQRS Submitter and PQRS Representative Quick Reference Guide for the provider to request either one of these roles.

Eligible Professionals (EPs) Paid Under a TIN/EIN
For EPs who receive their Medicare Part B payments under a TIN or EIN, the practice users will need to register (each TIN/EIN) as an organization and request the appropriate roles within IACS. Anyone in the organization may register for these accounts.

For organization (TIN/EIN) registration, the first person to register will request the Security Official (SO) role. The Security Official registers the practice as an organization in IACS and is an approver for the organization for that specific TIN/EIN. The Security Official, however, will not have access to reports or to reporting data in the PQRS Portal. Once the Security Official receives a User ID and password for the account, additional users may register for that specific organization and TIN/EIN. Follow the Security Official Quick Reference Guide for this process.

The Backup Security Official role (BSO) is an approver role for an organization (TIN/EIN) that serves as a backup to the Security Official and does not have access to reports or to submit reporting data. An organization can have up to 2 BSOs.The PQRS Representative role in the organization allows access to the eRx or PQRS Feedback reports, some GPRO reporting feedback reports and the Dashboard interim reports for claims-based PQRS reporting. Follow the Backup Security and PQRS Representative Quick Reference Guide for registration for any one of these roles after the Security Official (SO) role for the organization (TIN/EIN) has been approved.

The PQRS Submitter role for an organization (TIN/EIN) allows the user to upload PQRS or eRx data directly to CMS via the PQRS Portal for a practice using one of the qualified EHR Vendor systems. An organization can have up to 10 PQRS Submitters. Utilize the PQRS Submitter Quick Reference Guide to register for this role after the Security Official (SO) role with 2-Factor Authentication for the organization (TIN/EIN) has been approved.
