This Quality Basics presentation provides a background and history of the development of quality as a specific discipline. You will learn about the contributions of Quality pioneers and how quality efforts in manufacturing led to the present use of quality improvement in healthcare. Quality concepts such as Outcomes Measurement, PDSA Cycles, the Quality Trilogy, the Pareto Principle, and how they are applied to healthcare will be covered. Lastly, implementation and sustainability of quality improvement will be discussed and the future of quality in healthcare will be explored.

Steps to enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer
  1. Click on the Tools menu option at the top of the page.
  2. Select Internet Options from the drop-down menu.
  3. From the dialog box, choose the Security tab.

  6. Click OK to close the custom settings dialog.
  7. Click OK to close the Options dialog.
