Reconsideration Process

For FY 2011 APU Decisions

If the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) determines that a hospital did not meet the Reporting Hospital Quality Data for Annual Payment Update (RHQDAPU) program requirements for Fiscal Year 2011, the hospital may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS.

CMS Action

Following receipt of a request for reconsideration, CMS will:

  • provide an e-mail acknowledgement, using the contact information provided in the reconsideration request, to the CEO and the QualityNet Administrator that the letter has been received. Please ensure that this contact e-mail information is correct when completing the form.
  • send a formal letter to the Hospital CEO, using the contact information provided in the reconsideration request, notifying the hospital of the reconsideration decision. CMS expects the process to take 90 days from the due date of November 1, 2010.
