The Falls Management Program
This interdisciplinary program is designed to assist nursing facilities in improving their fall care processes and outcomes through educational and quality improvement tools.
Establishing a Falls Management Program in nursing facilities is important because falls are common in nursing facilities, often have serious consequences, decrease the resident's quality of life and ability to function. While not all falls and injuries can be prevented, it is critical to have a systematic process of assessment, intervention and monitoring that results in minimizing fall risk.
