Hospital APU recipient lists posted for FY 2010

September 21, 2009

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that the APU Recipients page of the Reporting Hospital Quality Data for Annual Payment Update (RHQDAPU) section of QualityNet has been updated with three lists related to RHQDAPU for Fiscal Year 2010.

  • Hospitals receiving the full APU. As a result of meeting the RHQDAPU program requirements these hospitals will receive the full annual payment update for FY 2010.
  • Hospitals not receiving the full APU. These hospitals will receive an annual payment update; however, failure to meet program requirements will result in the hospitals receiving a 2.0 percentage point reduction in the annual FY 2010 update.
  • Hospitals that chose not to participate. These hospitals will receive an overall increase in their annual update; however, because they chose not to participate in the program, the hospitals will receive a 2.0 percentage point reduction in the annual FY 2010 update.

A hospital may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS by completing the RHQDAPU Reconsideration Request Form. The form must be submitted via My QualityNet to the RHQDAPU Reconsideration Exchange Group no later than November 1, 2009. A hospital must submit a request for reconsideration and receive a decision on that request before it can file an appeal with the Provider Reimbursement Review Board (PRRB).
