QualityNet Logo

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched QualityNet.org, a new gateway to healthcare quality improvement news and information.

QualityNet combines the resources of its predecessor websites to give healthcare providers the latest information on specific CMS healthcare quality initiatives.

QualityNet.org also features:

  • improved site design for easier navigation
  • news on healthcare quality improvement activities
  • a search feature, allowing quick retrieval of important information

Information categorized by healthcare setting
To locate information on QualityNet, users begin by selecting the healthcare setting they represent—hospital, physician office, nursing home, etc.—from the main navigation bar.

Then, from the menu items listed for each setting, they may choose a specific CMS initiative, reporting category, data collection tool or other resource for detailed information.

Links to frequently used items—such as downloads (tools and applications), registration forms, training sessions and program deadlines—have been placed in the outer columns of most pages for easy access.

Data exchange continues via QNet Exchange
QualityNet is also the gateway to QNetExchange.org, the only CMS-approved website for secure communications and healthcare quality data exchange between: quality improvement organizations (QIOs), hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, end stage renal disease (ESRD) networks and facilities, and data vendors.

Using QNet Exchange, healthcare providers (and/or their representatives) regularly submit quality of care data, which is processed and reported to CMS for its analysis of quality improvement efforts nationwide.

The communication and data exchange procedures utilized on QNet Exchange remain unchanged. (Authorized QNet Exchange users charged with receiving and/or transmitting healthcare quality data should continue to follow the same procedures after logging in from QualityNet.org.)

Previous sites temporarily accessible
With the launch of QualityNet.org, its two predecessor sites—QNetExchange.org (public pages) and DOQIT.org—are no longer being maintained. Those sites have officially moved to QualityNet.org, where all news and program updates will be posted. During a brief transition period, however, the two previous sites will continue to be accessible, as a convenience to users.
